Services for Gladys I. Quanstrom, 75, will be 11 a.m.
Friday at RuxSchuster Funeral Home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
She died Tuesday at her home.
She retired in 1978 after 30 years of teaching in elementary schools in Victoria, Bishop
Hill and Galva.
She married Gerald "Jerry" Quanstrom in 1945 in Chicago. He died in 1988.
She graduated from Western Illinois University, Macomb.
Mrs. Quanstrom was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Womens Society. She
also was a member of Galva Retired Women Teachers and HenryStark Retired Teachers
Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Galva; and Vasa Lodge, Bishop Hill.
Memorials may be made to the church or Galva Public Library.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Brubaker, Kewanee; a son, Donald, Galva; six
grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Mrs. Loren) Ross, Centerville, Iowa; Marian (Mrs. Jack)
Duff, Matteson; and Verna (Mrs. Clee "Scotty") Scott, Angels Camp, Calif; and a
brother, Robert Youngstrom, Cambridge. |
